Paul Boyce is the iconographer. In keeping with centuries-old Orthodox tradition, during the preparation of each icon he is committed to prayer, fasting, confession and Holy Communion. He prays for the mercy of the All-Loving Jesus. He confesses his weakness without Him. As an unworthy artist, he prays for the grace of Jesus Christ to guide his hand in painting our Glorious Savior, the Theotokos and the Saints. As an iconographer in the demanding Byzantine stylistic tradition, Paul’s purpose is to communicate to the viewer the power and beauty of the great liturgical mysteries. Paul is a member of the St. John of Damascus Association of Orthodox Iconographers, Iconologists, and Architects. |
